From Brisbane to Broadway: Elephant in the Room to take centre stage at the Stevie Awards in NYC
Elephant in the Room Consulting (EITRC), the First Nations-led powerhouse founded by proud Bundjalung woman Jenni Walke, is stepping onto the global stage as a finalist in four categories at the 22nd Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business.
Often dubbed the Oscars of the corporate world, the Stevie Awards celebrate the best in leadership, innovation, and impact across industries and this year it attracted more than 1,500 nominations from 48 countries.
Past winners include corporate heavyweights like Apple, Google, DHL, and Procter & Gamble and now, Meanjin (Brisbane)-based business EITRC is joining the ranks, standing tall as one of just 34 organisations worldwide to earn four or more finalist nods.
“I was genuinely blown away to receive this honour and to be named alongside so many incredible businesses from around the world. Awards are a beautiful recognition, but for us they not the end goal,” Ms Walke said.
“The real reward is the work itself, seeing lives changed, businesses grow, and communities strengthened. I’m proud of what we’ve built, but I’m even more grateful for the incredible clients, partners, and communities who walk with us every day to make change happen. This journey has never been mine alone – it’s been shared, supported, and shaped by so many.”
EITR is a Stevie Award finalist in the following categories; Building Sustainable Supply Chains; Best Female Entrepreneur in Asia, Australia or New Zealand – Jenni Walke; Achievement in Diversity & Inclusion – Advertising, Business Services, Marketing & PR; Women-Run Company for Social Good.
Finalists were determined by the average scores of the more than 190 professionals worldwide who participated in the judging process. Among the entries, EITR stands out as:
- One of only 14 Australian businesses named as finalists
- One of just 4 Queensland-based finalists
- One of only 2 Brisbane-based organisations to earn this honour
Ms Walke will travel to New York City to attend the Stevie Awards gala on November 10, 2025, where the gold, silver, and bronze winners will be announced.
Adding to this incredible year of recognition, Jenni Walke and Elephant in the Room Consulting were also recently named a finalist in the Telstra Business Awards for Indigenous Excellence,
and in the 2025 ALIBI Awards across three categories: First Nations Business Lady of the Year, Business Lady of the Year, and Professional Services of the Year. Winners for all awards will be announced in the coming months.
