One of the common threads that popped up last week was how to get noticed, or rather, how do I show up for my clients? These conversations led to discussions about landing pages, websites and content for social media.
Chatting to my Digital BFF Kylie Mowbray-Allen from Hello Media about this on Friday, we agreed that it is so important to be authentic in your communication AND to remember, the communication you are sharing is no about you…it’s about your customers and potential customers and what they want to know and feel.
Sure, you are the vessel that is sharing the knowledge, but your communication has to serve your client and not just be about showing you are awesome…(that comes a little later!). The more your information resonates with your ideal client, the more likely they are to connect and take action.
One of the most important things to consider is where are THEY (your client/potential client) on their learning/development/buying journey?
Knowing the answer to this question allows you to write content that speaks to them NOW and then opens the door for you to show them what’s possible.
Here are three other questions to consider:
- What is the purpose of what you are sharing?
- How will what you are sharing HELP your customers or potential customers?
- Whose language are you speaking in? Yours or your customers? (i.e. do you use jargon or plain language)
